Paleo...here we go!

We are going to try the paleo diet. More like our own variation of it (not removing dairy and cheating occasionally).

I'm excited because we have both been feeling DISGUSTING and need a lifestyle change.

As we sat gorging on organic bacon and eggs doused in butter, I had a hard time believing that this kind of eating was okay.

I'll encourage you guys to drop dairy, otherwise you might not see much difference as compared to paleo. A healthy approach is to do it 80/20- 3 meals being a cheat. You guys can have butter, but only ghee. Dairy can promote inflammation and cause the intestines to overproduce mucus in response to irritation to the gut by inflammation. You could try reducing it :) that way if you really like how you feel off dairy, you will be able to figure out how much dairy you can enjoy without side effects. Just my two cents. Took me months to wean off dairy, although! Haha good luck!!!

Thanks for the input! Honestly we already don't consume too much dairy...cheese is what we like :) we don't really drink milk or eat yogurt. Either way, we are going to try to eat less cheese, but it will probably not be totally eliminated. But I'm going to tell Ian what you said so we can be more aware of what's going on in our body when we cheat with cheese.

Question for you: how soon after you began paleo did you notice weight loss? Ian's pants are already looser after three days (ugh, men!) but I'm just wondering when I might start seeing results. I've been trying to weight train just a little bit, but I'm not consistent or hardcore about it at all.
