Welcome to
early_theory, a ViggOrli fic exchange community. If you're here, you're probably wondering how this is going to work.
The basics are pretty simple. Everyone who wants to participate will sign up, I'll hand out assignments, doing my best to match preferences, and you'll have about 7 weeks to write a story.
Stories will be due to me on May 27 and posted by me on June 1. On June 8, I'll reveal the authors.
Now for the details.
- To sign up, go here.
You may notice that the form is a little bit different from what you may be used to. I thought it would be fun and challenging if instead of specific requests, I gave out something more general. However, I know that there are some people who don't do well with things like genres and prompt words, and a few people who have this specific plot bunny they would absolutely love for someone to write for them. That's why there's a spot to indicate if you have a specific request you would like to (or could) make, and if you would like to receive a more specific request as an author. I will coordinate that as well, and pass on specific requests to the authors who desire them.
Prompt words will not have to be included in the fic, they're simply prompts. Let them inspire you however you want. You may of course use them, but don't feel obligated to do so. A single word can inspire so many different ideas... and that's a lot of the fun. A fic doesn't have to include or be inspired by all the prompt words, either... just at least one of them.
- Once the signup deadline (March 31, 2007) has passed, I'll match up all the requests (including those for more specific requests), email to get more specific requests if needed, and send everyone an email giving them their assignment. Everyone will write one fic, and have one fic written for them. You won't know who is writing your fic until authors are revealed... and be sure not to tell who you're writing for or what you requested.
- The submission deadline is May 27, 2007. There are 8 weeks between the close of sign ups and the submission deadline, so even after I take a few days to sort everything out, you'll still have about 7 weeks to write your fic and get it betaed (preferably by someone not participating in the exchange).
If something comes up and you don’t think you'll be able to make it PLEASE let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The email address is earlytheory @ gmail . com. Things happen, I get that, but I want everyone who writes a fic to receive one, and backup writers will need time to write.
- Fics must be at least 1,000 words long. You're welcome to write more, of course, but I don't want anyone turning in an epic and getting a drabble in return... hence the word limit.
- The posting date is June 1. I'll be posting all the fics and then you will have one week to guess who wrote yours. Please don't put any information in your fic that would be revealing or post it anywhere else.
- On June 8, I'll reveal the authors and you'll be free to post the fic to other communities and your personal journal, if you so choose.
If you want to participate, please

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or leave a comment here. Please do not sign up here.
