In a way, this was almost funny - the melodrama of it all. But it's just hiding the hurt, isn't it? Poor, poor Athena, and poor dear Matt. =( =( =(

I will say, though, that Athena's never sounded so much like her father as she did at this point: “I was in a good place! I was in an excellent place! I am always in an excellent place!” *shakes head*

I hope they fix things, and fix them good, and soon. I also hope next Wednesday comes really fast...

The melodrama *can* be funny, I agree, and is, but yes, there are very real issues here that Matt and Athena need to address. Not the least of them being Athena's Doctorishness.

Was terribly excited while Athena was wondering why she was such a rubbish girlfriend (duh, you lurve Matt!) and then somewhat amused by the reclaiming of DVDs & deletion of DVR items, but now am ultimately sad that Matt & Athena have broken up before they even were together.

I was SO excited to see a new chapter on my flist... and then I read it and you break my heart. I'd be taking back Thhhhhhhhhhhmyrian fudge, too, if I had given you any. :-P

Fix them!! (Please.)

(On a side note: this was wonderfully written and you did a great job conveying their realistic emotions and the angst. And you broke my heart with the decades comment. <--Sorry, apparently, I couldn't keep that out, lol!)

Why was she so terrible at this dating business? Why did she keep losing interest in the men she dated?

Because, Athena dear. You are in LOVE with Matt you just haven't allowed yourself to admit it yet. Once you do, this whole dating business will improve. Trust me!

And obviously I wrote that bit before I read the rest up the chapter because now I'm screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Oh poor, Theenie and Matt. They both are so obviously in denial of their feelings for each other. I mean look at how Matt is completely unphased by her Jealousy - and how he fights her at first. Oh, please, please, please let them make up. They're too special not to end up together at least for a while. Also, I think it's important to note that everytime Athena feels unsettled she turns to MATT and not her family - that is very telling. And makes me even sadder about the way this chapter ended.

Although this completely had me choked up: “Athena,” he said, softly. “I don’t have centuries. I have decades. I have…I have decades.” It ( ... )

Kristin calls Matt and Athena "faily," an adjective that I think suits them perfectly. I am glad this chapter choked you up, because that was my terrible, evil, authorial, intention. ;-)

BUT YES, LET US FOCUS ON THE HAPPY ICONS AND HEADERS!!

Awww yes, Kristin is right, they are rather "Faily". But then, Rose and the Doctor in their early days could have been considered "Faily" too. Matt may not have forever but they could be happy for a while at least. I certainly think they have a better shot at it than Brem and Kate since Matt is much more accepting of the Time Lord thing. Also, I'm kinda hoping we get to see Matt go on a TARDIS adventure at some point. *hopes*

HAHAHAHA I completely understand the terrible, evil, authorial intention... I have been in that role myself. And honestly, I'm weird and I actually LIKE things that break my heart, especially since I trust you to put things back together again in some way that I will be able to accept. This is of course due in part to the fact that your initials do not contain an R or a D before the T...

YES PRETTY PRETTY ICONS AND HEADERS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS.
