SNOW. Sure, we don't have any here yet, but I even love the bracing, hunkering-down portion that precedes a snowfall, the trips to the grocery store, the locating of the shovels and salt, the still, sharp silence that falls over the air.

We have snow and ice right now -- this is the second day I've worked from home. (I must say, snow days were much more fun when we didn't have the capability to work from home. :) ) The kids outside are enjoying it, though. My only weather related concern at the moment is whether the power lines will hold up under the weight of the ice. Apparently there are a lot of homes in the area without power due to ice on the lines.

But it's beautiful outside -- all the ice and snow on the trees, and the sun shining through them: beautiful.

Snowdays were more fun when you couldn't work from home, but there's still something lovely about being able to work in jeans from your rocking chair.

I hope you keep your electricity!

And yes, snow is transformative in its beauty.
