That was lovely, and your dialogue was fantastic! I could just hear the characters speaking. I love the details you wove in, like Scripps playing because he could be part of the action whilst not being the centre of it, and Posner coming back after a bit. My favourite line is Scripps' "I'm in love with Jesus." Makes sense :)

One nitpick: “Point taken,” Dakin conceded. But you’ve got to admit; Posner's infatuation with me is boring because I want nothing to do with him. Irwin and me, well, we’re different. It’s mutual. Reciprocated.” You're missing a start quote after conceded and before But. But other than that, rock on!

Thank you so much for this comment. I was defintely trying to go for that. When I wrote the fic I kept on trying out their voices in my head.

Thanks also for the nitpick! I went and fixed that. Oops.

Thanks. I haven't really written more, mostly because I have a pattern of drafting fics and then getting distracted by schoolwork. But I'm glad I could get this story out.

As he watched the movie, he found himself wondering about unrealized love. Undeveloped, unrequited, unexamined love that was forced to grow up in corners and in silence. Unsurprisingly, he ended up in church with his head in one hand and the other playing Rachmaninoff on the top of the pew.

That is just one of the most brilliant characterizations; I can just see it in my mind. This is amazing!
