I'm not going to read the review because I would like to see this at some point... I just got to the part where you said it was slow. I love slow movies, though I've seen slow movies that are awful... We'll see. :-D
Yes, don't read if you don't want to be spoilt (though I think I didn't put any real spoilers in there - but still...). If you get to see it, let me know what you think! :-)
No, haven't seen it yet, but I heard it was great and that it got so many good reviews. The next film on my "To See"-list is "Hugo Cabret", but I'll put "The Artist" after it then. :-)
Hugo is really good, too! For various reasons I consider them similar movies... Cam and I couldn't decide which we liked better. I'm leaning toward "The Artist." But it wouldn't really be hard to say...
I actually thought the characters and the plot were well-developed. AND I thought that every single performance was excellent. I enjoyed the entire film as a result. But in the end it felt a bit... eh... Probably because the agenda was so cliched?
Hm, I guess that shows how different two perceptions of the same film can be! :-) I mean I agree with you that the performances were pretty good, but I didn't see lots of well-developed characters which in return somehow cheapened the good performances for me... But yeah, I agree about the very clichéd ending - and even if they had to be gay, I feel there could have been more clues on the way. Like this it only felt like a cheap out-of-the-box ending...
I wonder if a re-watch would change my opinion, though.
