[Lantis finally reaches the fountain and walks up to where Eagle is. He already has his sword out and ready. He doesn't want to fight Eagle but if there's not choice...]

[Lantis falls forward but uses that has a chance to spin around so he can defend himself. This is the best he can do. He knows that Eagle will try to kill him so that can automatically determine his reactions.]

You should stop stalling Lantis. I had time before you arrived to put the explosives into the fountain… one way or another you are about to die.

[He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before opening them again. He looks calm. At peace.]

Then I will die stopping the explosion.

[And he turns to run at the fountain, already summoning shields to place around the explosives and not guarding his back.]

[An exposed rear flank… sorry Lantis, right now Eagle is cursed enough to take advantage of that. Besides you are trying to stop his bombs!
Eagle dashes after Lantis and stabs directly at his unprotected back. ]

[Lantis knows he's coming but he doesn't stop what he's doing. Not until the last moment. Then he's spinning around, letting the blade stab into his side and grabbing Eagle's arm tightly to keep him there.

He coughs a little blood before he uses his other hand to reach for the rest of the technology Eagle has, intending to get rid of it completely.]

[Not expected! This was not expected at all!
Eagle suddenly found his sword trapped in the body of his enemy. Pulling back was no good since he was being held fast in that position. Lantis reached out trying to disarm him, or course going for the headband Eagle wore first. That was what gathered the mental energy that powered Eagle’s Autozam based weapons. Pushing that off Eagle’s forehead, suddenly the power of his laser sword halved and begin to weaken further.
He had to get away! With a twist Eagle forced himself backward, bringing his booted foot up to try and kick his aggressor away. ]

[Lantis grinds his teeth together as the sword moves inside him a little. But he keeps going, still holding the headband to force it off of Eagle's head. It means further damage to himself but he'll let that happen if it means stopping Eagle.]

[Snarled as if it was a curse before trying the reverse tactic, driving the weapon deeper trying to finish Lantis off before the power fully drained away. ]

[He coughs again and realizes there's blood on his chin. Still, his eyes say that he refuses to give up and he pulls himself further onto the blade to force Eagle closer while he rips the headband away.]

I...won't let you...hurt yourself...

[And suddenly it's clear that that is his main priority. Eagle's safety.]
