It wasn't as though she'd kept it from him on purpose...Okay, yeah, maybe she was acting like a jerk and taking out her frustrations from the weekend on someone else, but she had fully intended to get around to copying the data.

Or she did until something far more interesting and important came up, and she completely forgot about it.

"Consistent sleep schedule" is practically a foreign term to Rita, so as she feels the compulsion to run some studies and calculations, she makes her way down to the study as per usual. She hasn't checked her network device, and doesn't suspect for a second that anyone could be in there when she moves to open the door, book in hand.

Too late really, Eagle receives a ‘some one is approaching’ warning beep. Perfect. Getting caught in such a compromising situation was… not the outcome he was hoping for. A quick in and an even faster exit with the borrowed data was the preferred result, but that was swiftly rendered moot as the doorknob turned.
He could make a pathetic attempt at hiding, but there really wasn’t any place in the room suitable for that… besides the data hadn’t finished being transferred yet. Why go through all of this trouble if the reason for the break in was not obtained?
The door opens… and Eagle smiles like it is entirely natural to have a stranger in your house.

“Good evening,” Said in a cheery relaxed tone… it isn’t like he wouldn’t have been noticed anyway, just standing in the middle of the room as he was.

The voice immediately draws her attention away from her book and despite her surprise, she's quick to tense up into a ready stance. The light spilling from the hallway is enough for her to make out the figure of someone who obviously shouldn't be there going through her stuff, even if he's acting like it's the most normal thing in the world.

"You thief!" It's an automatic accusation--automatic like her response of 'blast first and interrogate later', hence she quickly starts chanting the spell for a fireball.

Thief… an unfortunate, if not correct, term…
Sad though, there had been a time when he never would have considered taking actions like this.

As the girl begins chanting… obviously a magical spell of some kind, Eagle doesn’t make any attempt to move. Instead he silently wills the transfer of data to speed up…
He wouldn’t let this end without accomplishing his goal! The chanting ends… at the same time the green light on the data transfer flashes…
