Life is interesting like this...

A post about my long ass weekend will probably come tomorrow whilst I'm waiting between classes. But a little bit on today, first.

So bunny and I randomly decided to hit the railrunner to Satan [sic] Fe today. Actually, it wasn't so random, since he had to do homework. But I randomly decided to tag along. It was an interesting experience to say the ( Read more... )

It could have been sooooo much worse if the truck had landed on the tracks just as the train got there. I have studied enough disasters to know how random little twists turn a minor thing into a catastrophe. And then there was the train wreck in D.C. later in the day. It was a bad day for rail traffic! Glad you had a good time, though. I'm the train nut and I have STILL not taken the Railrunner. Oh well. I'll be taking the train to AC in a few days.

Yeah, it could have. Had we been a few minutes ahead of schedule, we probably could have plowed right through the accident (or even some debris would have caused some havoc)

But yeah, we should all make a Santa Fe trip out of it one of these days or something. Would be fun. I may just become a train nut too, because I honestly thought this was really an awesome experience.

That story was on the wires this morning. Had no idea you were on the train at the time! Glad you made it out OK.

I don't think we were ever really in any danger. I just thought it was darkly amusing that some poor dude died, and the transit people decided to give us all free train tickets.

Latest I heard -- as of *very* early this morning -- no one had actually died from the accident. The armed guard in the back of the armoured vehicle suffered severe injuries, whereas the driver, strapped in up front, did not.

Regardless of the details of the story, I'm just glad you lived to tell the tale.

Too bad I didn't have the chance to call you for a super-exclusive phone interview before airtime. What can I tell ya? This morning was kinda hectic.

;) ;)

I laughed at "Someone died for those tickets".

I am a horrible person ;_;

yes, comparable to "someone died for your sins" and all we get is the new fucking testament. :P I meant for it to be a funny musing. You're only kinda horrible. ^_^

Eh, the New Testament has less rules and shit, but less entertainment value, poorly written, inconsistent arguments, substantially less character development, etc.
I'd give it a D.

And I'll take that as a compliment X3

Some of those New Testaments are now worth quite a bit of money -- what can I say? A combination of age, condition, printing, binding, and families' propensities to write their geneaologies in 'em.

Silly me, I just love old books.
