Total eclipse of the... yeah, too easy

So I've always dug astronomy. Unfortunately since my early college days I've really fallen behind on my pursuit of it as more than just a passing interest. Sure, I'll glue myself to the news anytime there's an important flyby like New Horizons, and I may catch a stray lunar eclipse but not much else otherwise. Trust me. You're not the only one. The closest I could get was Ft Collins, so I'll be driving up from there on Monday morning. I, too, have been developing contingency plans. Hopefully Google Traffic will tell me ahead of time if I-25 is bad. If I can at least get to Cheyenne, I plan on heading NE from there to Torrington. I will then take a small state road 21 miles north to get to maximum totality. At least those are the plans.

I briefly considered camping on BLM land for the event, but I kinda don't want to have any run-ins with any Wyoming folk who have their own property laws they want to defend with their guns. I have a feeling that might be a thing too. :P

As long as you'll be in Ft. Collins, and if you're a fan of cider, there's a pretty good place called Scrumpy's up there that you might like. The food's pretty good as well. the candied bacon is A+.
