Ok, so here's the plan, I'm going to start producing a mini-comic aimed at children, in the style of the old school comics I used to read as a kid, like Oink!, Buster, Whizzer and Chips but with a modern twist and hopefully enough for adults to get something out of it too? The current plan is that it will be a quarterly 16 page A5 comic crammed full of strips. I plan to use some of my characters that already exist like Witch Hetty Grubb, Quick Draw Dinosaur and Cat Flap (see my last post for the character designs for this one) and some others that I have in mind. I plan to get the first issue out of the door myself and then with any luck get one or two contributions from others?
Chances are that it will only sell a few copies, but if it gets at least a couple of kids a fraction of the experiences I had of reading comics as a kid, I'll be happy. As a father of two, it bothers me all the time that there are barely any quality comics out there for my kids to read.
I've not decided on a title for the comic yet, I'm thinking maybe 'OMG!' as in 'Oh my Goodness', or is that really lame and a bit predictable? Still thinking anyway. I'm also thinking of starting up a separate blog, perhaps on blogger, to log the highs and lows of the process of compiling the whole thing. Question is, would anyone read it?
In other news, looks as though I'll be having one of my comics appear in the first issue of Jim Medway's 'Comical Animal' get subscribing

I've also sent off a page for
jabberworks 'The Pickle' on-line magazine for the wonderful 'Vern and Lettuce, why don't you do a page?
Anyway here's a few more character designs:
