Animations!

Ok, so thanks to shizlo, who got me to check my saving methods again, I've been able to save my stuff in .gif format!

So, here is an LJ header I made with the manip:

You mean for GIFs? Or just in general?

for GIFs. The only thing I can figure out is that I have to cut down the layers - which completely sucks because that messes with the pretty transitions :(

Well hun, you can do three things to make it under the 40KB limit.
First off, you can cut off layers, but it won't mess up the smooth transition that much. It will still be fine, as long as you cut off layers evenly, but it won't take very long to make the transition. I don't know if it's making any sense or not.
The second thing you can do is to make it black and white. That reduces the size as well. I think you can fit around 25 frames in a black and white icon.
The last one is not that good, but I'll say it anyways. You can make a transition like the one in my icon. I think it's called motion blur in Photoshop.
