So glad you enjoyed the link! It really is a quirky series of shorts, some of which are classics in their own rights.

I'm enjoying your adorable Peacemaker icon and am thrilled to see Souji again. Honestly, he was so deliciously angsty, and seeing Hijikata fuss over him made my poor old heart warm.

All but one of the Souji Icons are my own work so if there are any of them that you like and want just save them to your hard drive or let me know and I'll send them to you. Most of them aren't animated, just a couple. If there is a theme of one you'd like let me know and I could see if I have the pictures to put it together for you.

Souji is probably my all time favorite reallife/anime hero/character. His story is so awesome because despite his illness and life he was such a child at heart. And yes one of my favorite parts of his story is how Kondo and Hijikata fussed and babied him along after he got ill. Even overriding the Shinsengumi code to finally take him out of the group and send him to hospital.

Ah, yes. The real world of the actual shinsengumi is an intriguing one. I even picked up a book with location photography that was used for reference while making the anime. I learned a lot even though it was in Japanese.

Thanks for the offer of icons, I will take you up on it some other time when I'm not so tired. Some of my favorite scenes were the more serious ones, of course. Like the time Hijikata makes Souji medicine and then finishes the last of it from the same cup as if to say, "If you must suffer, then I will suffer, too."

And of course the fantastic scene near the end when Souji, battered and bloodied, is gathered into Hijikata's arms. There was even a lovely poster of this in one of the anime mags I got from my bro. Truly worth having.

The GBs forgot the sunscreen so they've got sunburns, which have been treated with calamine lotion. I'm trying to decide who gets to say "they look pretty in pink" line. Hevn? Shido? Akabane? Kazuki?

Hmmm... I don't think I've ever used calamine lotion to treat a sunburn, but that's okay.

As for someone to speak that oh-so-familiar line, it would have to be Kazuki. The master of strings and bells would most likely be accompanied by a reticent someone in particular who might take exception to him paying them so much attention, of course! ^_^

Re Foamy: Oh...gracious! ::chuckles:: It reminded me of the side comments I used to hear at the wakes of relatives/family friends...the kind of comments people drop when they're not aware there's a child lurking nearby.

I think I'll be visiting that site more often in the future.

So true! The things people let slip from their tongues at funerals truly makes a person wonder if they are even aware of where they are when they say them!

As for Foamy, well, just enjoy. The episodes with Pil-Z in them---he's the little squirrel with glasses and a SERIOUS drug problem---are hilarious! Try the "Kevorkian Scarf" or "Kosher Cracker" episodes. They'll leave you unable to breathe they are so off the wall!
