Just as I was ready to press SEND, however, I noticed two things--the filename of the book was still the unimpressive working filename it had all along, not its title, and the header line had the even more minimal working name of the whole thing: K-III.   So, sometime around 7 am, another bit of revision produced a filename consonant with the title

It may be possible to reduce the size of the big files you send to your editor. Because M$ files carry all the historical changes, it is possible to (sometimes) reduce them a little by saving them to the desktop with a completely different name. Change it there to what you need it to be and pick it up from there for the email. You can also try saving them as .rtf (always a Good Thing if you are sending something to someone - stops it picking up their defaults) - this compresses some of the formatting instructions.

I was particularly amused by "3 small rocks."

All found on our land. One's a little bit of calcite, obvious solution deposit underground at some point. One has obvious fossils in it. And one, which also has less visible fossils, is just a comfortable rock to hold. I once had a greenish rock that I kept in a coat pocket for years and years--and finally lost "somewhere."

Made into shinys???

Yep. Shinys is what I call the pendants and necklaces and bracelets and earrings and such that I make. In this case I've got some keys and other stuff to turn into steampunky shinys.
