Couple of new posts on the Paksworld blog, about some details of the revision process.   With one exception (something I left unchanged because I need to get to the end before deciding exactly how to handle it)  I'm within 100 pages of the end of the main levels of revision.

Congrats. That's such a wonderful moment!

What was your word count pre- and post-revision?

I'm not sure what the pre-revision was, because I didn't keep a record back in June and July when I started. To be honest, I don't pay attention to word count at many points of the process because I know it will change--in structural stages of revision, in particular, scenes come and go, bloat and shrink, every time I look at them. At some point in September, I think I remember it was something like 172,000 or 170,200 (there was a 2 in there somewhere.) Now Word says it's 167,726, which is a little smaller than book one. My goal was "under 170,000" by however little.

I've always been one to keep score. Back in the day, it was always by page count. But these days it's word count. It motivates me.

Congrats on meeting your goal!
