You can have a town, why don't you take it? You're gonna make it after all...

Sorry, couldn't resist.

So, yeah. The weekend. I did have some apprehension surrounding it, for what I think were good reasons, but none of my fears were realized. It was the best possible visit and weekend that I could have hoped for.

"the presence or emergence of earlier images, forms, or strokes that have been changed and painted over."

Not quite right ... but yeah. Sort of?

Except the part that was weaker and sadder and broken when you left here is far far underneath now. You seemed stronger and more at peace -- both when it was just us'ns and when there were crowds around. And beautiful .... as you always are. Hopefully so much of the earlier sadness can stay well concealed beneath this layer of emotional growth.

I will stop saying it someday -- but again -- I am just so proud of you. And happy to be your friend.

P.S. I actually went to call Debbie & ask her to bring a camera .... and got side tracked! I wish we'd taken more pictures!! Dang. Next time. NExt time ... we will.

XOXOXO

That sounds like an absolutely lovely trip, I'm so glad you were able to enjoy it. Too bad about the hat, though. But that just gives you an excuse to buy another one and go out and have more fun adventures with it!

Is that the dress you bought? It definitely suits you. Go somewhere fancy, have more pictures taken so I can see the whole thing!

I'm glad the trip turned out to be a good experience. I am especially glad that going back made it so clear that the move to SF was a good choice.

And hat shopping can be fun!

I need a French phrase or German word for feeling happy and melancholy at the same time. Happiness at the present situation, but keenly missing the past.

I was thinking saudade, which is Portuguese, but that's not quite right. Still, a very evocative word.
