Just spent some time trying to explain why I wear black all the time and the aesthetic/ethos of Goth (& punk, tangentially) to a co-worker. She's nice and we work closely together, which is why I took the time, and she's more informed than your usual bear, but it was still... odd

ME TOOOOOOOO! Just read a book that used the word "can't" in every other sentence and never ONCE put the damn apostrophe in the word! I was mildly irritated. Kept thinking they were talking about lopsided whining.

I had a weird realization a while back in which I discovered that I still think of myself as a person who wears all black, when, in fact, it's been years since I wore all black with any regularity. I started slipping colors in. One or two here and there and I didn't even really notice when the closet was more color than black. Around the time I made this realization I tried to explain it to someone, someone who clearly did not get it. In my heart I'll always be an all black-clad girl.
