All That Jazz last night as I was slogging my way through 8 miles on the treadmill. I still love it. Actually, I don't know that I loved it when I first saw it 20-some years ago. It's very much what I think of as a "70s movie" - minimalist, not very linear, and kind of... scuzzy. The

I also love All That Jazz. It's definitely in the 8 1/2 mode that Fellini pioneered and every other filmmaker has borrowed when they're feeling like a fictional memoir on film. But it's great stuff. And yeah, that opening audition scene and Air-Otica...lordy.

Oh yeah. But my love for Fosse is so great (and his self-assurance and ego was so huge) that I don't mind the self-indulgence that would bug me if it were (almost) anyone else.
Sammy Davis Jr.'s number in Sweet Charity was one of the funniest things I've seen in my life.

Funny that you watched that- I was just talking to a co-worker today about the "smoking in the shower" scene. (And again, last night with J while watching "Jaws" for the bizillionth time...Y'know, the whole "Roy Scheider" thing) Weird.
And have you seen the mega-huge ass poster of Ann Reinkings "Dancin'" J bought? We could drape it on the side of the house and there would still be 4 extra feet.
