I'm trying to prepare myself.  What is an unreasonable number of times to see Avengers in the theater?  I think I will end up seeing it at least three times with various friends, but how many times can I go by myself before it just becomes sad and obsessive

I've seen it twice in 3D, once in 2D. Two of those times were by myself, the other was with my mother.

I may yet (read: will) go and see it again.

Trust me, there's no such thing as seeing this movie an 'unreasonable' number of times. ;-D

So, having seen both 3D and 2D, would you say that the 3D is significantly better? I generally don't care for 3D, but this is one of those movies that might make it worthwhile, at least once.

I didn't miss the 3D at all, EXCEPT in the fight between Thor and Iron Man in the woods which looked very dark in 2D and not as impressive, so I'd say 3D is worth it at least once for that. Otherwise 2D was brilliant. As great as this movie looks, I think the script is what makes it awesome for me more than the special effects. I don't think I'd pay the extra for a 3D showing again unless it was my only option.

Lol i'll easily be on my fourth viewing by the weekend. It just needs to be soaked in on a big screen as much as possible. I should just have my check deposited straight to Regal cinema this month...

I know! I live less than a block from a Regal that's showing it in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. They really, really want ALL my monies. (And they might get it.)
