Protect that precious heart of yours. You'll need it again.

Change can happen in an instant ... when you are ready ... when the time is right ... or when circumstances outside of your control precipitates the change.

Hurt is not necessarily a negative. It's an important message to ourselves. More often than not, we anaesthetize it, to make the hurt go away without addressing the root causes. Unlike the frog, you can feel the water getting warmer.

I like your reply. The most terrible feelings are usually telling us something that we need to hear, but damn! it's hard to do it.

Maybe it's time you tell him you and your kids are having desert anyway, on the floor, while wearing costumes. Why can't you say when you get desert? The best thing you could do for yourself and your kids is to stand up and say you're going to do it your way tonight. You know, take turns. Fascist dinners on Monday Wednesday and Fridays and human dinners the rest of the week.

sorry to hear you're having that day/night/moment.

no, you can't live without your heart. physically impossible. it has been proven, however, that you can live with a severely damaged heart. it's not fun, but it's possible. the problem is that the heart wants to heal. it wants to be all juicy and full of love. so it tries and tries again to heal and be well, only life, circumstance, whatever, gets in the way. so the heart lands up confused, searching in the wrong places for the bandaid to stop the bleeding, and that just hurts even more.

i have no answers. i do like the notion of just living your life your way, whether he likes it or not. it's not like it can get any worse....

*huge hugs*

(if we lived closer, we could go out and get drunk together, while oggling all the tasty... :) )
