Having traveled extensively at my last few positions, I can relate to your nerviousness. Particularly if it is a place you have never visited before. Most of the time I travelled by myself and it was always good to call home at the end of a day. In your case, I think that calling your friends at the end of the day to both get reports about the dog sitting as well as giving a friend a sumation of your day is a good idea. You may call me at any time when you are on the road. Perhaps I can even give you a tip or two on where to go or what to see in the area, if I am familiar with it. Sort of playing "find Waldo".
It is good to hear that you are slowly comming out of your shell. It will take time to heal and get used to the "new normal" whatever that turns out to be.
Love Pete

Thanks Pete, I'll keep that in mind. Twin Falls looks exactly like the sort of place you might have gone to -- nice big hydro plant.

You took big steps towards the new normal and did it magnificently. Great photos too. I'm sure Kai had a good time but that he was happy to see you. I'm glad you have such thoughtful and caring co-workers.
Welcome home.
