I don't know what's happening today, but really good new releases are along their way on the synthpop scene. I hope this is a new start of the golden era for electronic music.
The Alvarez remix of Rosenstolz's song (Liebe ist alles) really rocks. Have been listening to it repeatedly for a week now. Reminds me of the best bits of the 80s :-)
I'm utterly bored with Mesh and tired of their obvious sub-Depeche Mode fixation of how crappy they are feeling and blah blah blah. Actually, that said, I've never been that big a fan of Mesh - they just sound too much Depeche and NIN.
I can't blame you about the Mesh at all. Now I've been listening the full upcoming album and it's definitely typical Mesh. It has its ups and downs, but it's so filled up with purpose made hits with great melody, it has became rather dull than interesting. I think Crash is still a very good song, but might benefit having some more rhythmic tracks with upfront drums around it to make an interesting album. Of course Mesh is still very enjoyable live band.
And you might be interested, Der Amboss is definitely a cover of the Visage song of the same name. Pretty damn heavy though.
I hope I could spin those tracks soon at the club. Probably I should start my own club for that.
Yeah, Mesh definitely have some great songs, but their lack of truly exceptional and original songs speaks in support of the fact that Mesh is not able to undergo any change. But I'll take your word, because Mesh sure seems to be the type of band that would be very enjoyable to see live, indeed.
It's a cover? How very interesting. Funny really, since covering and ripping off Visage seems to in vogue now, with that brilliant 'One Word' by Kelly Osbourne and all.
Yes, start a club! We need more and me and DJ-partner are more than willing to support you and your cause. (And might get to play there too, naturally.) :)
