Hiedi has a friend coming in from the other end of the country next week when we return, and I hope things get a bit warmer because, if they do, we are supposed to go dog-sledding. :)

Dog sledding! Goodness - you really live in a different world than I know.

Very cool!

and i thought the -30C we had today was bad. Gotta love winter sometimes. By love i mean NOT.

Glad you survived. My friend lives in Kujji and has similar weather. I really don't know how she does it but she loves it there.

Ah, okay. I'm familiar with Kuujjuak. That's remote! Too remote for me I think.

That mp3 player thing is the worst. I've never experienced -40 . . . well, maybe I have, I don't know the conversion to Farenheit. But, I've definitely experienced the rapid loss of battery. That's so annoying.

Okay this website says that -40 is the same in both measurements... which does not make sense to me. http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm

It's right. Above -40, Farenheit figures are higher than celcius figures. Below -40, Celcius is higher.

Like, -10 celcius is not as bad as -10 farenheit, but -50 celcius is worse than -50 farenheit.

-40 is just the spot where the two meet.

And I just checked and the all-time low for Minneapolis is -34F (and that was in 1936).
