This video started making the rounds among Yukon people yesterday. Today, it's started making the rounds among hockey people. So, I have no choice but to post it. This is about 100kms south of here (just before the BC border). I've been there, but not in winter. Looks like just about the most beautiful patch of skateable ice in the world though:

Nice!

I had a pond beside my house growing up and skating conditions were pretty hit or miss because we had no wind-block and the ice would often freeze all wavy.

It's kind of amazing - I've never seen outdoor ice as nice as what's in the video. Like not even the Canal in Ottawa, which people are paid to maintain.

I've never seen a lake that smooth of ice or without snow before.
