Mostly for sabatoa and darkbay: photos from the bitter cold we got last week, and a few photos of the snow today. This first one is from the dark, morning walk to work that produced my new icon.

I am freezing to death just looking at those pictures. Living in Halifax has made me such a weenie!

I think I'd like Halifax for the snow! I love LOTS AND LOTS OF SNOW, and I'm not convinced that (this winter aside) Whitehorse is going to give me that. :)

wowsers! The iced over rails of the bridge totally complete the image. I bet things seemed so deathly still when you weren't surrounded by cars.

That's some nice snow you have, I'm jealous. We have a few crusty inches at most.

I imagine your neighbors cars won't start if they even tried.

Yeah. The walk into work where there were barely any cars on the streets was kind of eerie.

I'm going to look at these again when I get home. My work monitors are displaying the pics somewhat funky, the fog has whirlish qualities to it that makes it hard to see.

They're not great photos. I'm not much of a photographer to begin with, and the fog made things really difficult to shoot that day.

Nah - I don't laugh. It's all relative. :) I do however laugh anytime I see people walking in snowfall with umbrellas, like y'all are known to do down in your area. ;)

MMMMmmm see now I like this. It makes me want hot cocoa. With Baileys.

Hiedi's been into peppermint tea with Bailey's lately. It's not bad - and I say that as someone who doesn't usually go in for sweet, creamy booze anymore.

I've been very grossed out by beer for the last several months. It just feels so large and gross and bloaty. I don't really enjoy it anymore. Feels like asking for instant gas. This may coordinate with the drastic reduction in my drinking as well. So when I do drink, I have two glasses of red wine, a gin and tonic, or something like Bailey's in hot cocoa.

I basically only drink beer when I'm at a bar now. I hardly ever have it at home. At home I'm all about white wine (shut up) and whiskey.

I was perfectly happy enjoying those pictures from afar, but no longer. Montreal is hitting -32C tonight (plus windchill) and I'm at work all night. It's even chilly in the normally warm office.
