Heh. The automated system for classifying text used by the Gazette
trips up.
Also, Toronto Star:
What? I know I say this a lot, but that is just about the dumbest piece I've read in a major daily in a long time. And it's the top story on the homepage right now to boot.

I read parts of it to Hiedi last night and we both immediately had the same thought: Here in Whitehorse, we have the sketchiest porn shop you ever did see right across an alley from a church. The stuff mentioned in that article is by no means Toronto- or even big city-specific!

Once when I was interning at the National Post, I had to feed 3-6 year olds ice cream and popsicles from my trunk in order to get adorable soundbites about frozen treats from them. It was so lame, so humiliating, and the worst article ever. So yeah, maybe it's just something about newspaper editors and summertime fluff pieces.

I'm not saying it's (all) justified, only that this sort of piece (which appeared on the front page of the best-selling newspaper in Toronto) contributes to the perception that people elsewhere have of the place. This is the best that the Star could do to sell newspapers to Torontonians yesterday, yanno?
Fox News isn't all Americans, but that's not going to stop you and me from mocking the United States for Fox News, is it?
