So, I guess I've got asthma. That's what the doctor at the clinic said, anyway. I got those weird inhaler thingies (at a cost of $102, which I really hope I can get reimbursed). Hopefully, through careful use of these things, I can be back up and breathing in a few days - he said it might take that long for me to start feeling the effects. ( Read more... )

Asthma is a pain; you have my sympathy. (I had it as a child.)

I find it harder to breathe in Montreal than here. =/

Thanks, I appreciate the thoughts. I don't think Montreal's any worse for me, though. I used to get it bad in Ottawa sometimes, too. Actually, the worst I can remember (this past weekend aside) was my aunt and uncle's house in the country, on Sudbury's outskirts. I just thought it was really bad allergies, and maybe it was, and maybe that's asthma. That's what something that I read today said, anyhow.

Asthma sucks. If you didn't know you had it before, it's likely not going to be a HUGE factor in your life now ... only when you get sick. Of course it CAN progress ... and it might. I don't know.

I have personal experience w/ it too. I used to have a blue inhaler (ventolin) and a beige one ... which i can't remember the name of. I used to get a bit dizzy from those, but only right after i took them. You SHOULD be getting some immediate effects from them. I'm sure some of it is long term, but ... i think most inhalers are supposed to be fast acting.

If you give me the name of the stuff yo'ure on, i can look up more info on it for ya.
