Does it take 20-30 for the page to start showing up, or to be completely loaded? If the latter, it might just be that somebody emptied the browser cache.

If the former it's more complicated. It could be a weird connection to the dns server- try accessing website using numerical IPs and see if it's faster. It could also be an OS issue, spyware getting in the way, or something on the side of Sympatico. To ascertain the latter, there are websites out there which will allow you to test your connection (I think dslreports.com has that, googling should yield you what you seek).

No, it's 20-30 seconds for the page to start loading, pretty much.

I'll look into some of these things tonight. Thanks for the tips!

when in doubt, i always scan for spyware.

My guess goes to DNS as well, probably on Sympatico's end. You could try pinging the sites that don't load, too.
