how fans of certain series can get almost exactly same ideas:

[mine]and I found it only by accident because I'm following one of the groups it was posted in. maybe it's a coincidence, or maybe someone did use my picture as inspiration. I'm not going to bash this person nor do I want anyone to do so, because I have absolutely no reason

That is a cute piece of art.

And yeah, I know how you feel. Someone else made an icon similar to one I made (same crops of the same scene, mine was manga, hers was anime), and someone recently posted a story that was very similar to one of mine.

it is cute, and I'm actually glad that I'm inspirational for someone, but it still feels a little weird to find something so similar to what I did^^;

and she didn't really plagiarize; she took your idea, and went off on her own art. :D

similiaries crop up often. where they make me cry is when I see my novel idea, half done on my end, ends up on the shelf. I've had people ask me hey did you change your pen name. I thought I saw your book.

yeah especially when they're big name authors. I did have a vampire story published with the vampire named Vittorio. After Anne Rice's Vampire Vittorio I ended having to change it (his story is now up at dreamspinner press with his name as Arrigo)
