Check ebay first. I always forget about that.

Or heck, is there a gym nearby? You could probably get a year and a half membership for the same price. A gym would come with some training advice, other machines (cross training), and just a different experience. Plus, you don't have to drop so much money on it to find out if you like it.

Or ... a bike :-) I got a bike last summer and I loved the hell out of it. I look forward to loving the hell out of it again this year.
