So, cynical and ignorant. These are two words that I seem to use in a different way than others. Jon and I were speaking about the word cynical the other night and it was the first time I became aware that some folks use it as a synonym for bitter. Which just seems weird to me 'cause I always used it as the primary definition: to be mistrustful of Read more... )

So what you're saying is

Haha, I also never take people seriously when they start a sentence with this. My LSAT book told me that any argument rebuttal that starts with this will always be flawed.

I don't define cynical like you or the dictionary.

And I now realize that people probably don't understand what I mean when I say cynical. Which is okay since I don't use the term often.

And yeah @ "world traveled" lol. I have a friend who thinks he's on another level knowledge-wise cuz he's been to Europe a couple times. I try my best to resist the urge to deflate ego bubbles... but it's so fun sometimes!

My definition is more closer to apathetic... but an apathy enduced by feeling powerless?

I use ignorant and ignant. Ignorant's definition can be found in the dictionary. Ignant is that other definition that you're not familiar with.

Oh ignant is something different. But then again my use of ignant is a bit non-standard too. And it changes depending on the context.

Yea, I wouldn't say that cynical and bitter are the same, even though both apply to you.

It's good to see you're still as hateful as ever, Laney. I wouldn't want you to go acting like a normal human being and confusing me.
