I feel like this fic did not even need the interfacing at the end; in fact, the scene felt almost out of sync with the rest of the fic. Unnecessary when the emotions are already so powerful and the goodbyes already said.
They are such a sappy couple (and that is delightful). I liked your comment about the iron in Elita's spark and the contrasting passion and solemnity. Optimus's primary devotion and duty to Cybertron brings to mind Sam Vimes and his Ankh-Morpork. Which would make Elita Sybil. ... Which I can see, actually. Ha. I don't always appreciate epic romance type, but I did like this one. I didn't even think to laugh at any corniness until the reread, which is an accomplishment.
XD; I actually ... added the sex in at the end because I realised "hoshi- this is springkink and I should probably put some loving in there >>;"
But ah well, too late to change it XD
I'm glad it wasn't overly corny for you (god knows I was worried about that) and ... um...
the only 'easter egg' I can think of is the fact that the whole thing's threaded with a gigantically huge extended metaphor, but that's less of an egg and more of a 'lol, Toast needs something to focus her obsessive nature on, otherwise she'll never write this properly'.
Haha, is lovin' a prerequisite? Maybe if it occurred earlier...
I'm still not all that clear on how springkink works, although some of the stories (and even some of the challenges) interest me. I can't seem to find a "RULES" page at all, but I'm sure there must be one somewhere. Also, I think there's another associated comm but... I keep losing it.
Well, it's Optimus Prime, so what might typically be corny ends up infused with profundity as well. And Elita talks straight.
