They were rescued, right? They were totally rescued.
Great work!
[Really, tell me they were rescued.]

[As to whether or not they were rescued... I left that open-ended for a reason. Whatever happened to them is definitely up to you to decide.]

idk, maybe if I get to the end of the challenge, I'll write the many possible resolutions of this fic for one of the writer's choice options XD

It’s hidden under bravado and posing, but it’s times like this that Kyle fully realizes just what it means that GL rings are will-powered. The will that drives the man before him can’t be compared to rocks or mountains. Those are breakable, changeable, finite. No, this will is the gaps between the constellations, deep and endless and altogether irresistible.
Well played. Well played indeed.

For a moment there I was afraid you were going to get into the whole long list of all the women that Guy and Kyle have lost, and then they'd be there long past the point where the charge runs out. (Kyle's notorious for this, but Guy's got a second dead girlfriend in his past, too.)
You are entirely right about Guy's willpower--for all that Guy doesn't seem to have much else going for him most of the time, he's the strongest-willed and most fearless of the earth Lanterns.
And the last line is, well, win. ;)

It's actually canon that Guy's ring sparks all the time because he's got too much willpower for it to completely hold in check. (I am sort of an encyclopedia of Guy!information. I would say it's a sign of my obsession, but then I'm also the only person I know who's come up with a scientific explanation for most of the mutant superpowers in Marvel so. >>;)
/GEEK
I'm really glad you enjoyed this, though! I was worried the whole time that it was too wordy, but the positive comments I've been getting have spurred me on to writing more fic. My f-list might be innundated in teh near future when I get back from Cuba whooooops XD;

If we're going non-romantic (and despite Arisia def. being Guy's Woman In A Refrigerator, they were so not dating) Guy also has his Dead Older Brother, because Major Force just liked to kill GLs' loved ones that year.
Oh and hey, they can bond over their mutual experience with "I shoved your Mom in a kitchen appliance! NO JUST KIDDING."
Heh, I remember that canon bit. I mentioned in the other comment about me and post-Rebirth GL, but that bit made sense. (...it was a complete and total retcon, but it made sense!)
I don't think I dare ask about your scientific explanations. I mean, I'm a geek too, but I feel that some things human beings (sapiens or superior) were not meant to understand. *g*
More fic is good!

But I am very glad that I have finally got around to reading it -- it is so lovely, and this paragraph:
The will that drives the man before him can’t be compared to rocks or mountains. Those are breakable, changeable, finite. No, this will is the gaps between the constellations, deep and endless and altogether irresistible.
is fantastic.
Also:
"Yeah, I know. She beats you out in the tits department every time, hands down."
LOL XDD
