Looking for a Beta

So on one hand, I'm writing fic again. Finally.

However, apparently Guy Gardner owns my brain right now. I've got two fics on the go and one in need of a beta... which is where you guys come in.

Is anyone here a Green Lantern person? If so, are you interested in betaing some fic involving Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and hideousness?

apathocles and I would be verrrrrrrrrrry interested in doing this! I am in a Green Lantern phase right now. My Green Lantern of choice is Hal Jordan (he is so stupid -- I'm reading the Green Lantern/Green Arrow series from the 70s right now) but I do know Kyle Rayner enough to help out :)

XD What are you two and why do we always end up sharing the same fandoms?

TBH, I had this thing against Hal Jordan for the longest time because my first and favourite GL is Guy Gardner and Hal? Hal was such a dick to him. I'm getting over it because, yeah, in the Silver Age, Hal was such a doofus that I'm beginning to realize that the dickery wasn't on purpose but simply because he was obviously dropped on his head as a child. Many times.

The thing is, though, all the fic I'm writing is in current canon, having to do with Guy and Kyle as partners after the GLC Recharge arc. Do you guys know that?

Hal Jordan was dropped om his head as a child, and then continued on this theme for the rest of his life. Hal is SUCH A DICK. John Stewart was in the Green Lantern Corps for about half an hour before he started to do a better job than Hal.

I have to say, I haven't read much of the more recent comics (and apathocles says she pretty much stopped reading after Ted died), BUT I have been keeping up with summaries, so I don't know if that would be detailed enough knowledge to help you out. But I can give it a go if you like?

Oh dear! This must be remedied! Personally, I also fell out of DC after Ted died, however, there are some gems that aren't mainstream continuity, but that are really worth reading. The Blue Beetle series about Jaime Reyes (the third BB) is awesome to the extreme; Secret Six contains creepers and hot, awesome lesbians, and is written by Gail Simone; and the Green Lantern Corps covers the adventures of Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and a bunch of other really fantastic new GLs, including a lady-surgeon from Korugar (where they despise Lanterns), two soldiers from opposite sides of the Rann-Thanagar war who end up partnered to each other (can you say bromance?), Mogo (the living planeeeeet), Kilowog, and Salaak (whose personality is something like Prowl's if Prowl were an alien with four arms).
