She was toweling off her hair when she came back, tossing the towel haphazardly into her bedroom with a grin. Kaylee was positively beaming. Date with Simon! They hadn't had one of these in what felt like forever. And he'd been the one to invite her! Maybe there was hope for the two of them yet.
"Yep!" Came her energetic reply, hands clasped behind her back, still grinning. "All clean and shiny. No more paint, see?" She pulled her hands forward to wiggle her fingers by way of demonstration.
"Pfft, I ain't much for anything fancy. A good pair of coveralls would do me fine-- just something decent to work in. That robe ain't gonna last me long the rate I'm goin'."
"That should be manageable," Simon said with a nod, "It's good that you're already doing things to keep yourself busy. The paint looks really nice so far."
