Maes trudged through the snow, grumbling himself not only to keep himself warm, but keep himself coherent. After all, he himself would notice if he was speaking gibberish. And if he was speaking gibberish, then he would be getting too cold and would have to find shelter. Well, finding it was the operative term. He could barely see more than five feet in front of him much less than fifty feet. And he was fairly confident that he was going in the right direction. From Schwarzalbenheim to Midgard to Niflheim and then he would reach the cafe. Or was it from Midgard to Schwarzalbenheim to the cafe?

"Crap." He'd already lost his way? How the hell was he supposed to check on Ed and Lina? They were all alone in the cafe, and with the power flickering, possibly out by this time, there was no telling how long they could last on their own. But then again they could burn the wooden stools for warmth. Hopefully. Ed was a smart kid-man. He was a smart, young man and he'd know how to take care of his wife.
It made Maes feel nostalgic and bittersweet depressed at the same time. It was something he would do, that's for certain. Take care of his wife.
