L wasn't the only suffering from boredom, but unfortunately everytime Graham looked to entertaining himself with the guards as potential piñatas, a certain alien would always complain. Not that this fact stopped him, but the mechanic had to wonder why no one seemed terribly concerned that he wasn't in jail like was supposed to. Likely no one cared, which was both good to know, and somewhat sad.

It was upsetting that all their plans for a revolution had been sapped dry for lack of the ones that had thought to spearhead the objective. All the curious newcomers from the Gate were gone before Graham had realized, which left him to demolishing things with extra fervor at his job, and after a day he was fine. Terribly disappointed that there was no more talking truck-robot, but fine. Whatever fine equivalated for him, anyway.

That didn't stop Graham from being curious about the temple himself, however. He'd heard things had happened, and he knew that there had to be something there that could either get everyone ( ... )

So intense was L's concentration in whatever direction he chose to focus it that the stranger's whispered query was as jarring to him as being jabbed with a needle. He had thought that he'd seen movement near the door of the temple, and just as he'd leaned closer, narrowing his eyes to see if he could make out any details, that soft so what do we have here had effectively made him jump out of his skin. Shaking, unasked for adrenaline coursing through his veins (his metabolism would make him pay later), he took several steps away from both the man and the fence, regarding the latter with silent, feral contempt. His curiosity was too strong for his annoyance to last, however. Keeping his voice low, he said, "That depends on who's asking. What is it to you?"

Graham arched a brow, eyes gleaming in unspoken amusement as he watched L's reaction. Chuckling quietly, he eased back a bit to give the other some space. "Mm? What is it to me? Such a bold turn of inquiry to something that was posed but for mere curiosity!"

He rolled his shoulders, resting the large wrench on the ground with a faint thud. "But since you seem like you're new around here, I guess I can tell ya." A nod was made towards the temple. "That's the only place we don't know much about, and the only place that's not giving us answers 'cuz we haven't been able to check it out."

The muscles in L's jaw worked visibly as he ground his teeth. He disliked it when he was unnerved and others amused. It messed with his rhythm. "I am a bold individual. I make my queries known and am not afraid of the truth." skinny, consumptive thing that he was, he held his head high. He was a proud creature, despite his misleading appearance.

Staring at the wrench, he kept his posture tense and braced. He was usually on guard for an attack of some sort, especially around individuals with tools or weapons. He listened, both nonexistent brows furrowed in concentration, as the man told him what he knew about the temple. Which, truly, wasn't much.

"Surely, though, if someone were to join the Temple, it would give them answers," L said innocently.
