*Here's a rare sight. America's actually in a peppy mood as he does his rounds despite the dismal late night/early morning patrol hours. Probably because his mind's miles elsewhere- and he'll be eager to get back to the apartment to work on things!*

[He nods]

I know some people, our erstwhile roommate included, decided to use them for more practical purposes. They would make good coats, I admit.

[Ah, finally, the apartments are in sight!]

*Grin!* Oh yeah! Talked with him about that, and I've been planning on making good use of them too. Don and I got through a good chunk of them that one day- ah, that's why there was a bloody mess in the kitchen by the way. *Sheepish chuckle*

I'm almost done with my football!

*There, have that non sequitur as they get to their destination*

I wondered what sort of massacre had occurred. I'm glad to know it was animal and not human in origin.

[He starts heading up the stairs to the apartment, and raises an eyebrow at America's comment]

Your football? Is this made from the tribbles, somehow?

Eyew- oh gosh no! Completely animal!

*He mounts the steps after Andrew, nodding at the next*

Yep! Shel' did mention tanning the hides- and there was plenty of material to experiment with as opposed to anything else I'd prefer. Sewing was a pain though.

[Heading up to the apartment and unlocking the door]

I can't say I tried experimenting with them much. I didn't want a lot to do with them.

[He walks into the kitchen and begins pouring himself a drink]

Would you like anything to drink before we talk about this?

*Laugh* After having to wade through 'em for days? Can't say I blame you.

*He'll go step into his room to- oh whoops, he'd forgotten he was supposed to drop the rifle off first. Later, then- and hopefully he doesn't get grilled for it*

-ah, guess I'll have the same thing you are!

[He pours them both a drink and brings them out into the common area, setting them on the table]

Here you go.

[Then he sits down, and sighs]

So. I went into the tunnels fairly recently.

*He comes back out of the room after putting stuff away, settling into the other chair, echoing that sight* -always feels good to sit down after getting back.

*He picks up his drink, gulping down a mouthful*

Oh yeah? How'd you do that- They got an entrance just sitting around somewhere or did yo sneak in?

A little bit of both. There's an entrance in the junkyard that, as far as I know, the guards are unaware of.

[He takes a sip]

When I went down there, I heard an extremely odd noise.

Oho? *He leans forward on the table, clearly interested!*

-a noise? What kind of odd noise?

It was a seemingly inhuman noise, but certainly the noise of something alive.

[He sighs and takes another sip]

Extremely unpleasant. Loud, and angry.

Wow, really? That definitely bears some looking into! Maybe you've found a way into the alien's lair!

[rianofski]

[He chuckles]

Maybe so. What's more, I'm relatively certain that the government knows something about it. The tunnel definitely shows signs of being manmade.

Are you surprised? This whole place is just screaming conspiracy.

So you didn't actually see anything of what made the noise, then?

[rianofski]

No. It sounded like it was getting closer, and it seemed prudent to make my escape.
