Thank you so much! I really enjoyed Hermione in this too, so I'm glad you did! She pushes boundaries into some seriously gray areas, but she never does anything she hasn't already proven she's willing to do in canon. It was fun to work with that.

Wow. This was gorgeously layered and heartbreaking. You did the disjointed time so well; it's not at all confusing and instead works to great effect. From the beginning I had an idea how it came to that, but the out-of-sequence journey is still lovely and anguished. That bit at the start where Rose is upset because she's never seen him so happy--oh that feeling! And Hermione: I had so many emotions about what she says and does here. Great, nuanced fic!

Thank you so much for this lovely comment! I'm so glad the disjointed time worked and it was clear-- it was my first time trying a fic this way. Hermione here ... yeah, all the mixed emotions! I think it's interesting to note that however gray/wrong/misplaced her actions are here, she never actually does anything in this story that she hasn't already proven she's willing to do in canon. I sometimes forget how dark Hermione got-- she did all the darker stuff Harry couldn't/wouldn't do in order to keep him safe. Our unreliable narrator Harry glosses over most of it, but I had fun playing with it for this one!
