This is quite a fascinating story. I really enjoyed watching the dynamic between Snape and Petunia develop and how similar they are in their grieving despite being from two different world. I loved how the thing that brings them together, Lily's memory, is not enough to completely bridge the divide.

You did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. I loved the last lines.

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed exploring how they would try to bridge that divide, but still be their own selves that still held a lot of btiterness and regret.

Thank you for this story! A great idea with a wonderful titel.... I am glad that Snape got the memories back which he had given up earlier. I hope Petunia was sure about her plea that he should get rid of all the other things....

Thank you! I'm glad that bit of him getting the memories back worked, I was a little worried it wouldn't. :)

Wow, this fic was amazing. I never would have thought of Petunia and Snape as being similar, but this fic makes me see how they could be and how they could have a lot in common. This fic is so beautifully sad but in an understated sort of way.

I loved this line and everything that followed:

"Today," Petunia said, her heart thumping wildly in her chest. "Let's say all the most hurtful things she told us about the other. Just today, then it'll be all done with."

That seems so like Petunia for some reason. And then this:

"No. Tomorrow we can talk about how we loved her."

That line gave me so many feels.

Thanks so much! I felt like they could both potentially be quite hurtful people, but they were hurt a lot themselves, so it was interesting to sort of play with that and see how it came out.

Oh, this put tears in my eyes! These two were hurt the most by Lily and probably cared the most. (Not that they didn't hurt Lily too) How fitting that they do this together. Petunia is perfect here and I love how sweetly, stiffly, prickly awkward Snape is-- not his usual at all. Because it's different with her. Beautiful and a little haunting. Loved it!

Thank you! I'm glad the characterization came across as I hoped, they are prickly and they have both hurt and been hurt, so it was an interesting to find a way they would talk about Lily together.

"Today," Petunia said, her heart thumping wildly in her chest. "Let's say all the most hurtful things she told us about the other. Just today, then it'll be all done with."

I love this. It really makes clear their pain, not at Lily's death, but at losing her even before then.
