I am astonished to discover the following in an essay by Philip K. Dick:

IIRC, The Transmigration of Timothy Archer and The Divine Invasion both deal pretty directly with these ideas. They may show up in Valis too, not quite sure. So, no, not surprising to me.

Yup, I checked his Wikipedia entry and the mystical experiences are mentioned, although under the heading "Mental Health" rather than "Religious Beliefs".
