It's called a pocketwatch

Yesterday, knirirr mentioned that he had a pocketwatch that needed a baggie, and did I know where a baggie might be found?
Oh, I said, I could probably knit one.
Fulling was initially thought of, but a trawl through Rav didn't produce much I liked.
I got out the Big Roses Tin of Leftover Sockwool. knirirr picked a colour. And I knitted a poche. Judy's Magic ( Read more... )

Ooo lovely :) Are lucet cords like i-cords? They look much neater. I need to make a similar pocket thing to put my new camera in so it doesn't get scratched - is the YO-hole thing recommended for a draw-string type thing then? Or should I have a go at buttonhole type holes instead? I am a bit clueless about this sort of thing.

Btw I hope knirirr has a pipe and tweed jacket to go with the watch :)

I find lucetting much easier than i-cord - to me, it looks neater, and is a good deal thinner. It's sort of a two-prong version of french dolly knitting - pics here. It is a similar idea, though. For the holes, the yo thing is easier too, and is much smaller than buttonholes. When I was doing researches for this pouch, I did find some patterns for bigger pouches for cameras and that :-)

We're working on the tweed jacket, knirirr has arms like a gorilla ;-)

Oooo that looks awesome! Kind of like finger-knitting but with two fingers overlapping each other, and with sticks instead of fingers? Cool. The two-colour ones look very pretty...
