Well, I've been reading/watching some coming out stories lately on Realjock and figured its about time I put my story out there. Never know, it might help someone and it might help you all understand a bit more about me and who I am. Thank you for having the courage to post this, Nick. It's always good to see someone else's story and realize how familiar it is to my own.

I remember a long time ago you mentioned coming out to your fraternity brothers- when I read it then it was an entirely novel concept to me. Flash forward a couple years, last spring in my sophomore year I pledged a fraternity myself, fully expecting my sexuality to be the deal breaker with Sigma Chi. My brothers have been unfailingly loving and supportive of me.

I guess the point of this comment is that people often don't realize how their small actions impact people around them, directly or tangentially. Even though I barely know you, you've always been something of an icon of the masculine, masculine-oriented sexuality that I most relate to and identify as.

:hugs: Nick you have no idea how proud I am of you. Back in college, I wondered if you ever would be able to tell your family. I'm glad you have and that weight is off your shoulders. I'm also glad you're still here, as opposed to taking other roads that could have been.

It is awesome you were able to sit down and post all of this. I am so happy you are gettign the chance to finally pull some of the burden off your shoulders.

Never be afraid to be who you are, back in the old college changeling group (I know.. I am still a HUGE NERD) we all pretty much knew, but none of us wanted to make a big deal of it. You are a wonderful guy, and you deserve to hold your head up high. *hugs* I may not often been in touch but I keep watch here when you post, know I am cheerin' for ya from miles away and take care. :)
