Lordy, do I suck at dipping candies, even worse than I suck at wrapping presents. I've been making truffles based on a recipe someone (Beathen, I think) posted at b.org a couple of years ago. Set a sheet of wax paper over the wire rack and let them cool on that. Or is there some reason not to do that when dipping truffles?

Great minds think alike, because that's what I wound up doing, although I used parchment paper, same diff.
