I feel your pain! It's a real life version of the joke where you pay the plumber $200 for knowing what lever to push.
I wouldn't thave thought to look at that damn timed bake switch either. Chalk it up to 'Stupidity Tax' even if it really isn't -- you're the victim of bad ergonomic design, really.
I hate when that happens. I'm sorry it happened to you, DX. We paid the dryer repair man something like $75 once, right after we moved here, to change a fuse on our electrical panel. We never even considere a fuse, because it was half working. I think it was spinning, but not heating. There were two fuses, you see...(in fact, you probably know).

I see hating to pay that for such a short and unevewntful service call, but better that then a completely blown oven.
