I know Dean referenced it in the ep. but once again Dean would know that the creepy kid in Three Men and a baby is actually a promotional cutout for one of Danson's character's commercials. And even if Dean believed the urban legends, Sam "the college boy" should have known the truth and corrected Dean for his ignorance. Or maybe Sam should have made the refs and have Dean mock him for his gullibility. So either way, one of the boys should have schooled the other.
And I know this isn't your fault its just something that irks me in the ep. cause its OOC for Dean, IMO.
i agree. the line bugged me when i heard it the first time because in the back of my mind i knew something was off. but being that they are supposed to be buffs at this, they should know when a haunting is real or not. especially dean, the pop trivia wiz.....man i miss these days. feels like a totally different show.
This isn't their case, this is a movie urban legend. Sam has no joy for movies, as shown, and I think it is hilarious that Dean, who knows which of the hundred or so urban legends people suffer from are true or not, has some he believes in himself. He wouldn't research an old movie set from years back...unless he was going there to do a job.

I thought it was a pretty funny joke myself.
