SIGN-UP POST
This is the Sign Up post for the Doctor Who Secret Santa Fic Exchange.
The exchange covers all of the new series (2005 and onwards) of Doctor Who, including all characters and pairings. It also covers all ratings, including adult. Please be specific about whether you are uncomfortable writing/receiving certain characters/pairings/ratings/etc in your sign-up.
This Exchange will be done anonymously in the style of a secret santa gift exchange (hence the name). Fics will be emailed to me and then posted by me from the start of December through to Christmas, depending on how many participants we get. If you don't want your fic to remain on the comm where you can't edit it or control it after the exchange ends, let me know and I'll take it down.
The Rules:
- All fics must be at least 500 words in length. There is no upper word limit, so go nuts.
- You must write a fic in order to receive a fic.
- Crossovers with Classic Who and the spin-offs (e.g. Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures) are allowed, but the focus must be New Who. All pairings are allowed and encouraged.
- Sign-ups will remain open until Saturday 11 September 2010. You can edit your sign-up post until sign-ups close. I will send out assignments by email as soon as possible once all of the sign-ups have been received.
- You must send your fics to queen_of_the_castle_77 @ hotmail.com by Saturday 20 November 2010. If you have trouble meeting this deadline, please contact me by email ASAP so we can arrange something.
- Please consider carefully whether you can meet the deadlines before signing up, because you'll actually be writing for someone, and I'll have to find a replacement for you so no one misses out on a gift. I understand, however, that things do come up. If you sign-up and then have to drop out after sign-ups have closed, please let me know by email as soon as you can.
- You must not tell anyone except your beta/s, if you have them, which fic you've written until the reveals go out after Christmas. Anyone you do have to tell should keep the details of your fic secret as well. Do not post your fic anywhere prior to the reveals. If you post about your fic on your journal prior to then (e.g. progress updates), please be vague enough about it that it doesn't become obvious which fic is yours. This also means that you can only reply to comments on the fic anonymously up until that date, or otherwise wait until then and reply under your username.
Any questions or problems you have about the exchange can be sent directly to me by email at queen_of_the_castle_77 @ hotmail.com , or posting in reply to the 'Questions' comment below.
All sign-up comments will be screened to keep your requests super secret. ;) I will, however, unscreen any 'Questions' comments that I think other people might be interested in. I'll also keep a list of participants in a separate post to confirm that I've received your sign-up, so please be aware that even though sign-ups will be screened, others will still be able to see that you're taking part.
ETA: Sign-Ups have finished! If you're interested in signing up to be a pinch-hitter, however, there will be a post in the future requesting that, so watch out. :)
