Telly: Brain Rot or Mindless Fun?

Feb 11, 2008 16:18

And now, we reach the point in series 2 where really, it's all about the Doctor and Rose. Starting with probably one of my all-time favorite episodes, The Idiot's Lantern!

we're tipsy. only tipsy. )

dettiot: Yay, Gatiss!!!
ivydoor77: Love Mark Gatiss for this ep.

He should so be the person who takes over as showrunner when RTD leaves.

dettiot: I love the camerawork in this ep, all the Dutch angles and such

I'm sure some of that, in addition to being a 50's style homage, was to provide more interesting shots in the very cramped spaces they had to shoot in (at least in the house, which was by all accounts tiny).

ivydoor77: You just KNOW illie snuck them home.

If I recall correctly, Billie's the one who had bought them and brought them in, so heck, according to DT's recent anecdote about people renting their own shoes to productions, she probably not only kept the shoes but ended up getting paid for them.

dettiot: [giggle] and hello to the Doctor's spun-sugar jaw!

The only thing girlier would have been to shriek and faint before the fist hit his face. *snerk*

ivydoor77: God, I have to give the folks who wore the prosthetics props. That would freak me out.The grandma was actually CGI, like Billie. Honestly, I have to wonder ( ... )

Bwah! I love that. [giggles]

Including covering his face. "Not the face! Rose likes me this way!"

I am keeping my fingers crossed, given that they've had a previous novel shoutout, that the Rome episode will make it so.

There was a novel shoutout before????

In "Boom Town" Rose rattles off some locations they'd been to, one of which was from The Monsters Inside. (Which was a decent enough read, its highlight being when Rose took a flying leap into the Doctor's arms - which wasn't really romantic, but FUNNY. SLAM!)

Although now that I think about it, I do remember some grinning at each other. They seriously cannot not be adorable.

I've got the origional design, which is now discontinued. the shirts now just have the rip open reality part.

I've got the original too! Absolutely NO denying my fangeekness.

I can't believe this guy is older than Billie. he is, isn't he?

WTFF? O_O *RUNS OFF*

Okay, wiki's telling me he's younger, but only by less than a year. WEIRD. He totally looks 14 or something.

well, if you're gonna make crack your personal canon, use mrv3000's.

*snorts*

I remember comments on the commentary about how young he looked.

And your canon is the best. :-)

I think the DW website might be the source of the confusion. It actually says on the confidential page for TIL.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/confidential/index7.shtml (to lazy to code it).

The icon near the door. Probably the same fact checker who thinks Cuba Gooding, Jr was born on February 1 rather than January 2 (easy mistake but kind of sloppy too).

Odd. I wonder who's actually right.

hahahaha!
your drunken recaps are so much better when I'm drunk too!
love all of them, and this episode particularily rock. I could watch it over and over. mainly because of the cute.

And it's so much more fun to squee when you know DT's squeeing too!
