Some things are worth getting your heart broken for.

This is one of those episodes where I feel like the premise and the villains are almost unbearably cheesy, but the characters are so brilliant that it's still a good episode. I mean, as far as I'm concerned SR is nothing more than a vehicle for Sarah Jane/K9/Rose/Doctor awesomeness. (And no, I do not mean all that as a slash pairing. Get your minds ( Read more... )

But if I was torn from the Doctor like Rose was...I think I would have collapsed against that wall and not let anyone move me. I would just give up. But she went on and she worked for Torchwood and she made all her experiences worthwhile. And god, I respect that.THANK YOU!!! Of course she hurt, but dammit, Rose didn't go catatonic. From what I've seen, some former companions did come up in the classic series, but it was really a rare thing. And some companions would leave, never to be spoken of again. I think it was more an external thing - since the cast changed so often, they didn't want to spend much time looking back for fear of losing their audience going forward. Susan (his granddaughter) seemed to get the most play - she got a mention here and there even through Six. (Maybe even later - I've not seen everything ( ... )
