2. Tbh, this was probably my favorite part of the episode. There's just too much going on in this episode with the Smilers and the protest/forget and the starwhale stuff and yeah. But for some reason, I did like the protest/forget stuff.

3. Eh. I think Eleven overreacted a bit, but I can see why he was pissed that his choice was taken away from him. I know why Amy did what she did, but yeah. I would be annoyed if I were in Eleven's place.

4. Because Moffat is a master storyteller. IDEK. I feel like this episode had some plot holes that you could drive a Starwhale through.

5. I AM NOT SURE. I FEEL LIKE MOFFAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET AT SOMETHING THERE, BUT IDK. IT JUST WASN'T CLEAR ENOUGH.

2. Yeah I like the set-up, but the execution is wonky. I don't hate this episode as much as some people do but it's definitely not the best of s5, lirl.

3. I remember this, plus VOTD the next week, and a scene or two in the Angel episodes, made me think that a big temper would be a tick of Eleven's. But then it basically never happened again, so... I guess not.

4. LOLOL

5. lirl lirl omg those scenes. The first time she said it I was like "o I c wut u did there, I approve" but then she said it about nine times more and by the end I was just laughing so hard. I remember laughing really hard when poor Karen had to deliver that "you could have killed a starwhale" line all sadly and majetsically. Omfg.

I had categorized this episode in my head as one I didn't like, so when I rewatched it today I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did ( ... )

Also, what was with the enormous bobby pin Amy had with her when she was picking that lock? Who carries pins like that around with them? Amy's wandering around in her nightclothes wearing a monster of a bobby pin? Who does that?

5. Oh sure. Very old, very kind, and the very, very last. I don't know how Amy knew all that about the Doctor so early in their relationship, but she wasn't wrong.

This.

I sort of wondered if maybe it was that kind of thing -- like the kids were slaves or whatever, working in the ...torture... chamber... thing. But if that was the intention it could've been made much clearer than it was.

Did you think that there were any parallels or similarities between the Doctor and the Starwhale?

IDK I THINK THEY WERE BOTH VERY OLD AND VERY KIND OR SOMETHING??

It's a little rough but I think it illustrates the point I was trying to make:

Wait, what?

That comparison was so subtle and nuanced that I completely missed it the first time. They're both old...and ... kind.... and ......... amused by other floating fish?

I THINK I GET IT NOW, TY KALI
